Revit Importer
Working with both SketchUp and Revit? The Revit Importer allows you to bring Revit models directly into SketchUp without hassle. No inefficient exports or data loss, just a fast and streamlined workflow.
You can import .rvt files directly into SketchUp, with geometry automatically cleaned and optimized. This saves hours of work and avoids frustration when dealing with complex models.

What you can do with the Revit Importer
- Import Revit (.rvt) files directly into SketchUp
- Work with clean geometry without triangulation or unnecessary data
- Preserve structure with groups, components and tags
- Automatically optimize imported models for SketchUp
- Improve collaboration across teams and project phases
- Significantly reduce file sizes compared to traditional exports
Result: less cleanup, faster workflows and more time to focus on design.

Point cloud import
With Trimble Scan Essentials, you can use point cloud data directly in SketchUp as an accurate 3D foundation for your design. This allows you to work faster in existing environments with reliable real-world context.
You can easily import file formats such as E57, RWP, LAZ, TZF, LAS and PLY and process them directly within your model. Ideal for projects where existing buildings, terrain or complex conditions play a key role.
What you can do with Scan Essentials
- Import and work directly with complex point clouds in SketchUp
- Combine multiple scans into one usable working environment
- Adjust color and transparency for better visual clarity
- Use the Clipping Box to isolate and focus on specific details
- Create accurate cross-sections based on scan data
- Place your design within the scanned environment for better alignment
- Compare model and scan data using the Inspection Tool
