Description
The VMV methodology for ARKEY/Adomi has been developed by us since 1987 and is used by architects, contracting companies, housing corporations and municipal building services throughout the Netherlands. Because of its efficiency and open character, the methodology is used at quite a number of large architectural offices in the Netherlands.
-
Different representations are included in all building sections for the purpose of scale and phase. At any time the drawing can be switched to the desired representation. The representations present are: Sketch design, Preliminary design, Final design, Specification drawing, Working drawing, Sales drawing and 3D. The various representations of the components are coordinated in such a way as to create clearly arranged and therefore more readable drawings.
-
The methodology separates overview drawings from details. This prevents drawing in too much detail at too early a stage. In this way it becomes attractive to really develop the building model from coarse to fine. By means of references, however, it is possible to test the overview drawings against the detailing.
-
The methodology assumes a very systematic design of the drawing work. The drawings are set up as a building model with a fixed division into building sections. The advantages of this method are that changes can always be made integrally and that the efficiency, quality and reliability of the drawings are greatly improved. The final plot drawings refer to the model drawings with self-set parameters.
Assuming that a draftsman is always looking for the most reliable way to achieve his goal, we have built the methodology around some very compact agreement sheets. For example, there are agreements on file and component names. The layer classification of drawings and library are aligned with the NL-SfB and these in turn are linked to the standard IFC classifications. These agreements can of course be consulted on-line.
