"You can continue to use SketchUp, but you will not be allowed to start a new file or open an existing file."

Report:

Both Windows and Mac users can run into this problem in SketchUp as well as LayOut.

Solution:

  • Exit SketchUp completely
  • Open SketchUp from the Start menu (Win) or the Apps folder (Mac) (not from a drawing) and in the welcome screen, click the little doll in the upper right corner and then click “Sign Out”
  • On the next screen, click “Sign In” and enter your credentials

After this, the problem will be solved.
